On July 25, according to foreign media reports, the Apple-1 computer prototype developed by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs is being auctioned. The auction has started last Wednesday, and now the price has been as high as 230,000 US dollars. It is expected to reach at least $500,000 in this auction and the auction will end on August 18.

This Apple-1 prototype means a lot to Apple's development.The prototype was hand-soldered in 1976 by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Then Steve Jobs got his first big order after demonstrating the prototype to Paul Tyrrell, owner of The Byte Shop in California, agreed to buy 50 Apple-1 computers, which made The Byte Shop the first Apple-1 Computer retailer. As such, this prototype is very significant in Apple's history.

RR Auctions describes in its listing: "This plate has been matched to a Polaroid photograph taken by Paul Terrell in 1976 showing the prototype in use. It was first published by Time magazine in 2012 and reported by Achim Baque of the Apple-1 Registry. The current state of the circuit board gives some insight into Jobs' judgement of it: he saw the prototype not as something to be consecrated, but as something to be reused. Several integrated circuits have been pulled from their sockets, so as are microprocessors and other components."

In fact, the prototype had some damage, but despite this, the prototype is still so much valuable as its final auction price may reach $500,000. Last year, an Apple-1 computer built in Steve Jobs' home sold for $400,000, while another Apple-1 computer, to be auctioned in London in 2022, sold for $470,000.
